Honda Hornet is about to return: here are the first sketches of the new naked

At EICMA 2021 the return of the Honda Hornet, a model that has been very successful in the past. There is therefore great expectation for the launch of this new bike from the Japanese manufacturer. But how will it be? A small preview of its design comes from some sketches that the brand wanted to share.

Sketches that are made by Honda R&D department in Rome, also responsible for the design of some of the successful models such as CRF1100L Africa Twin, CB650R and X ‑ ADV, in collaboration with colleagues from the R&D department in Japan. In particular, to take care of the design of this graphic concept of the future new Honda Hornet, the Italian designer Giovanni Doviswhich recently signed the lines of the new ADV350 crossover scooter.

Honda’s Design Philosophy aims to create something pure and functional in the simplest way possible, a philosophy that is reflected in the creation of exciting models with “genuine” beauty. The sketches show how the design of the Hornet Concept is based on the values of agility, dynamism and lightness, thanks to the compact and elegant proportions, the pointed tail and the sharp lines. The result is a bike with a taut and aggressive look that underlines its sporting attitude, which has always been in the DNA of all Hornet generations.

Obviously, these are only the first sketches of the new Honda naked that show a very first idea of design. A lot of work, therefore, will have to be done to create the definitive look of the bike that will always be defined thanks to the collaboration between the Honda R&D department in Rome and the Japanese one.

For the moment, there is no precise information on the technical characteristics. Some rumors speak only of a twin cylinder which could have a displacement of 750 cc. Nothing is known about the debut date. Maybe at the next EICMA appointment? All that remains is to wait for more information on the arrival of this new naked.
